Goals for this week:
This week I’ll be able to work out on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and MAYBE Friday. Monday, and Wednesday are out of the question because I’ll be on the clock at both of my jobs for at least 14.5 hours, not including travel time. SO, weekly goals:
-Maintain your set schedule—meaning no taking internship hours from one day and lumping them onto another, that will just...

You know what I really freakin’ hate? 99% of those “Ladies, you’re not going to get bulky from lifting weights,” posts, and here’s why:
They’re usually incredibly patronizing. Oh those poor, silly little women with their crazy ideas about getting bulky. Go lift something heavy so that you can…

The 29 Hardest Ab Exercises →
livelaughlovehealthy:
We get it. You want lean body. And while no single exercise will ever flatten your belly or give you a six-pack (you need to adjust your diet for that), there are ways to work your abs even harder so that as you lose fat, you uncover a hard body. We asked Jim Smith, C.S.C.S, a strength coach at Diesel Strength & Conditioning, to identify the hardest core exercises. Try...
For the Beginner Runner: A Short List of Links →

These links are pulled from everywhere: LiveJournal, Active.com, RunnersWorld and beyond. I found them useful when I was beginning running, and I hope other beginners will, too. This is not a full, comprehensive list of “everything about running ever,” but I hope to shed some light on good places to look for information for beginners. If you have any...

Update
I went through a massive un-following spree last week. I found myself overwhelmed by how many blogs I was following (1500+) and felt like I not only had to catch up, but also that I never could. For my main blog I cut down on a LOT of fandom and social justice blogs—while interesting, they sometimes caused more strive than anything else. I also unfollowed several inactive Fitblrs.

Dropped by Whole Foods to double check my schedule, and grab some awesome juice. I worked the Juice/Espresso bar last week, and it was awesome! Just the smell of the juice was invigorating, and I can’t wait to finally buy a champion machine.

My 48 hour work week is over.
I’ll be honest, I haven’t worked out at all this week, because every free moment was spent trying to catch up on sleep. I got up at 4:30 this morning for work, and I will need a nap before I can even think about functioning, let alone going to the gym.
It’s been almost a year since I’ve worked a job where I’m on my feet for 8-9 hours at a time. I work 42 hours next...
47.5 hour work week AND shark week?
Bring it!
Oh this will test all of my planning skills, because two days this week will involve me being on the clock for 13.5 hours, and that doesn’t even include commute. (Leave the house at 6am, be at the office at 7, work until 12:30, then an hour and a half to eat and drive to my second job at Whole Foods, and then work until 10:30 at night—then go home.) I’m going to try...

Ugh, a sickly update:
I have some considerate coworkers who get sick, and despite the fact that they could actually work from home, they still come in to the office. And I really didn’t need whatever they had/have. But of course, I woke up feeling groggy and while this went away, I now feel really nauseated.
Last week wasn’t as relaxing and productive as I had planned. The cool weather meant I was stuck...
How Yoga Unlocks Emotions →
agamikarmayoga:
This is a nice read. It reminds me of a year or so when I had my only emotional episode so far in yoga. A relationship had ended several months prior but it still weighed incredibly heavy on me. We were lying in Savasana and then it was just like water works. Thanks goodness I was sweating profusely because it was a crowded class.
The poses indicated in the article are...
