MyFitnessPal - Free Weight Loss Tools</description><title>Full-Life Detox</title><generator>Tumblr (3.0; @full-lifedetox)</generator><link>http://full-lifedetox.tumblr.com/</link><item><title>Back to the start:</title><description>&lt;p&gt;Tomorrow is this blog&amp;#8217;s 1st birthday! I had to go 102 pages back to figure that out, but there it is! And ironically, I&amp;#8217;m back where I was when I started&amp;#8212;housesitting for my aunt. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Stats wise it doesn&amp;#8217;t seem like I&amp;#8217;ve made much progress&amp;#8212;sure I&amp;#8217;ve lost 6 pounds, and ran 175 miles and neither of these things seems like a big achievement. But there are so many  other things that I set out to do, and now a year later I find that I&amp;#8217;ve accomplished some stuff:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;ve made and kept doctors appointments.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;ve found a second job.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;ve drink more water.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I cook healthy meals, and my fridge is constantly full of produce.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I go to the local farmers market.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;ve signed up for a half marathon in the fall! &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;I&amp;#8217;ve bought shorts!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m still working on encouraging my husband to exercise and eat better&amp;#8212;but hey, that reminds me, &lt;strong&gt;We finally got married, and did it our way with zero frills.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; I bring my meals to work.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I have learned to better manage my finances, and have even started to save for emergencies and grad school! &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Here&amp;#8217;s to the next year!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Now I&amp;#8217;m going to do some Zumba with the dog, before heading in to work! Last night a manager gave me a 10$ gift card for rocking it, and I&amp;#8217;m torn between a bag of organic cherries, or looking for some nice matcha tea!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Ingredients&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;fruit — 2 cups berries, citrus, melons, pineapple…most fruits will work (see recommended amounts in directions)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;herbs — a sprig of mint, basil, sage, rosemary, tarragon, thyme, or lavender&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;water (tap or filtered)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;ice&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Directions&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Supplies needed: 2 quart pitcher or jar with lid; muddler or wooden spoon&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;General formula for whatever fruit/herb combo you desire.&lt;br/&gt;1. If using herbs, add a sprig of fresh herbs to jar/pitcher; press and twist with muddler or handle of wooden spoon to bruise leaves and release flavor; don’t pulverize the herbs into bits.&lt;br/&gt;2. Add approx. 2 cups of fruit to jar/pitcher; press and twist with muddler or handle of wooden spoon, just enough to release some of the juices&lt;br/&gt;3. Fill jar/pitcher with ice cubes.&lt;br/&gt;4. Add water to top of jar/pitcher.&lt;br/&gt;5. Cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Suggested flavor combinations:&lt;br/&gt;ALL CITRUS (no herbs) — Slice 1 orange, 1 lime, 1 lemon into rounds, then cut the rounds in half. Add to jar and proceed with muddling, add ice &amp; water.&lt;br/&gt;RASPBERRY LIME (no herbs) — Quarter 2 limes; with your hands, squeeze the juice into the jar, then throw in the squeezed lime quarters. &lt;li&gt;12 ice cubes&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Put half the watermelon in the blender and blend until smooth, then add half of the ice and sherbet; blend until smooth. Repeat the process with the rest of the ingredients.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;li&gt;2 tablespoons of sugar&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;1 tablespoon of lemon juice&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;1 cup of ice cubes&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Place the honeydew, kiwi, apple, sugar, and lemon juice into the blender and blend until it’s smooth, then add the ice cubes and blend until the mixture is slushy.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;MANGO SURPRISE&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;1 tablespoon of juice&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;1 tablespoon of sugar&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;6 ice cubes&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Add all the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth.&lt;/li&gt;

I had a bad reaction to the medicines I was prescribed and by the week&amp;#8217;s end I was in the ER. Needless to say this had an impact on my work and work out schedule. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;To top it all off, job2 started to schedule me for 40 hr work weeks, in addition to the 20hr weeks at my internship. So health issues+60hr work weeks+commute=exhaustion. I started to feel really negative about myself and my time constraints, so I stayed off of fitblrs and told myself that I needed to focus on just managing my work and home lives. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;All through out this I managed to eat healthy-ish when I could. But then our trip to Disney came up, and let me say how astonished I was to find that for such a massive international company it was almost impossible to find healthy options at the parks or hotels. The freshest stuff we could find was at the Morocco part of Epcot, everything else was highly processed, fried, and covered in salt. The happiest place on earth needs a menu overhaul.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I went from having fried foods once every few months, to almost daily. It was difficult to keep my water intake up, because of the expense of bottled water and frankly the lines.  We all came home from this week long trip exhausted, possibly dehydrated, and just gross feeling. &lt;/p&gt;

I used pepper, curry powder, red pepper powder, garlic powder and thyme.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Directions&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1.&lt;/strong&gt; Preheat oven at 120°C / 250F,&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2.&lt;/strong&gt; Rinse and dry the spinach leafs,&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3.&lt;/strong&gt; Place spinach in a large bowl, pour in some olive oil to coat the leafs,&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4.&lt;/strong&gt; Add herbs, toss it all around,&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;5.&lt;/strong&gt; Place some baking paper on a tray, and lay out the spinach nice and evenly,&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;6.&lt;/strong&gt; Pop them in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Keep checking on them until they’re crisp!&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;I could eat buckets of this stuff. Yum! Enjoy your crispy veggies. :)&lt;/p&gt;
